Worst Day Ever?
Chanie Gorkin
Today was the absolute worst day ever
And don’t try to convince me that
There’s something good in every day
Because, when you take a closer look,
This world is a pretty evil place.
Even if
Some goodness does shine through once in a while
Satisfaction and happiness don’t last.
And it’s not true that
It’s all in the mind and heart
Because
True happiness can be attained
Only if one’s surroundings are good
It’s not true that good exists
I’m sure you can agree that
The reality
Creates
My attitude
It’s all beyond my control
And you’ll never in a million years hear me say
Today was a very good dayNow read it from bottom to top, the other way,
And see what I really feel about my day.

I saw this today (thanks for sharing Shimon Rudich) and I absolutely love it! Chanie Gorkin, a 17-year-old about to enter the 12th grade at the Lubavitch High School in the US, wrote this poem for a school project.
This young lady is awesome! She is also very humble too, check out what she has to say about producing the poem in an interview.
I guess we can all take something out of this wise teaching. A good day, or a bad day...it depends on how we look at it really doesn't it? So, next time we are tempted to say we had the worst day ever, perhaps we should think again and see things from a different perspective as Chanie suggests.
Fabulous, really fabulous.
