"There's nothing more important than our good health - that's our principal capital asset."

Motivation Monday - Richard's Insight
I am a little late in adding my extended insights this week; I hope that has not caused any disappointment with you.
The thing is, I have always been a very fit and healthy person. I remember at school having only half a day off the entire time and that was due to my Dad taking me out of school early and then up to Newcastle to watch a mid-week football match! I recently had access to my medical records when extending my life cover to cover my mortgage borrowings. I remember the lady at the doctor's surgery saying she had never seen anyone's records like mine...there was one entry...back in 1976 when I broke my arm as a child!
I guess, you can take your health for granted then, if all you have known is excellent health all your life. Just recently then, it has been a bit of a challenge to deal with a couple of quite minor health issues. To me they seemed larger than they really were, due to my previous medical history. However, at the same time, they are an indication that none of us is either indestructible or immortal. In the past week alone, we have said goodbye to Lemmy, David Bowie and Alan Rickman, each falling before the average innings would suggest they should have.
Life is precious - our health and wellbeing is equally precious too...our principal capital asset in fact.
What should we do with any capital asset, such as a house say...adopt a regime of preventative maintenance, stay on top of repairs and keep it fresh and clean throughout!
I am minded to take note of these words more than ever at this time, no major dramas but an MOT may be a good idea I think...how about you...how well are you taking care of your principal capital asset?
