"By working faithfully eight hours a day you may eventually get to be boss and work twelve hours a day."
~ Robert Frost ~
Motivation Monday - Richard's Insight
Isn't it interesting how we can become conditioned? In the work place, we do well, we get promoted, then we work harder!
This is not restricted to the workplace either - whether we are self-employed 'solopreneurs' or run a small business...how are the miles on your working hours clock stacking up this year?
Granted, success comes with hard work and as has been said, 'comes wearing overalls'. But is it what you really want? Is it just for a while, until you achieve your immediate financial and lifestyle objectives, or has it become a perennial habit of working long hours waiting for your ship to come in?
Take a step back today and consider this...
What do you really want out of life? Will it come by doing more of what you are doing right now, or do you need to make some changes?
Don't sleepwalk for the next 10, 20 or 30 years into a habitual daily grind of 8, 10, 12 or more hours just grafting away...be smart too. Gratification needs to be delayed...but not forever!
Work provides us with a living. Savings provides us with security. Investments provides us with choice. Leverage and compound growth provides us with wealth.
