Don't wish it were easier, wish you were better

Motivation Monday - Richard's Insight
There is a temptation to seek out an easier path when we are undertaking a task or striving for a goal. However, would the shortcut to success or instant gratification approach truly benefit us?
How would we grow, develop or learn if we found it easy I wonder? Personal growth is to be welcomed and embraced. Some would say we can't retain that which we attain if we have not grown sufficiently to do so.
However, I believe Jim Rohn is making a different distinction here. He is talking about how our minds work. Don't seek an easy path and let's be honest, who hasn't sought the easy path at times? Instead he encourages us to pursue personal growth, continuous learning and excellence.
This will benefit us much more and will make any success attained far more sustainable or enduring as well, so it is on our best interests to do so.
But it all starts with our thoughts - once we start thinking of how we need to be better we start to seek out knowledge, put in the hours of practice and ready ourselves to apply persistent hard work in pursuit of our hopes, goals and dreams.
Essentially, we become more purposeful then. Let us be more in pursuit of purposeful personal growth and excellence than wishful thinking this week then.
