Damien Fogg & Anna Harper have teamed up to bring a new weekly podcast to the property community to aid our property investing education. It is called The Property Investor podcast and is available from either iTunes or the podcast's own website.
Damien is an experienced property investor and a Chartered Building Surveyor (more commonly understood as a 'RICS' surveyor qualification). Damien has achieved 'financial independence' through his property investments spanning over a decade. Anna Harper is relatively new to property investing. However, in addition to her own investments Anna also studied a property-related degree at Cambridge University and is very well connected as a committee member at a property networking event in London.
Together, they offer a mixture of perspectives and insights in an often humorous and certainly friendly way. However, the biggest benefit from this particular podcast is that they have already and intend to interview property investors that are actually 'walking the talk' i.e. have invested already and have achieved relative success through doing so. We can learn about other's people's strategies, approaches and even mistakes from their interviews.
At the time of writing this, there are three podcast episodes currently available, with a weekly release schedule planned. The first episode is an interview with each other, as the hosts to set the scene - this allows us to get to know the 'central characters' a little bit better. It also explains why we have a mix of 'straight to the point' with 'strategic or incisive' questioning style and content; although I will let you decide, which style suits which host the best. The third episode is an interview with Simon Grace, who explains the benefits and distinctions between having a 'cashflow business' and an 'asset acquisition strategy'. The second episode happens to be with with...ME!!
Why not check out this latest property investing education resource for the knowledge-thirsty property investor. The emphasis is on content and insight, such that the learning from other property investors shines through. At 30 minutes or less, the episodes are not too long either and so they should happily sit among our regular audio learning companions and they do offer a slightly different take to other property podcasts currently available. Some of the common questions seem to be: what was your first property investment project, what are you currently working on and what mistakes have you made that we can learn from? At the end of the interviews follows a short summary of the key learning or 'take away' observed by the hosts to add more colour to the interview format.
I hear that not all episodes will follow an interview format and so it should be interesting to see how this podcast evolves as time passes. For now, it would be great to see a couple of people that already make a significant contribution to the property investment community prosper. I am now a subscriber, albeit somewhat happy to have got over the shock of listening to my own voice and am now looking forward to hearing more real-life stories from real-life property investors.
