The Property Voice Podcast - Series 2: The 18-Year Property Cycle interview with Akhil Patel
Property cycles are like clockwork according to some! Here we invite Akhil Patel, our subject matter expert, to share with us his own research and that of others before him that makes a very compelling argument for a clear and definite pattern in the property market. Not only this, but we sow the seeds of what the heck to do about it once we know about it. Back into our series rhythm now, so we also have Your Voice & the Shout Out back in full swing once again.

Transcription of the show
Hello and welcome to another edition of The Property Voice Podcast, my name is Richard Brown and as always it is a pleasure to have you join me again on the show today.
As we alluded to last time, Property cycles are like clockwork according to some! Here we invite Akhil Patel, our subject matter expert, to share with us his own research and that of others before him that makes a very compelling argument for a clear and definite pattern in the property market. Not only this, but we sow the seeds of what the heck to do about it once we know this.
Let’s have a listen to Akhil join me in Property Chatter then.

Interview with Akhil Patel – The 18-Year Property Cycle
Your Voice
Just before I dive into Your Voice, I just wanted to acknowledge the input we had there from Akhil Patel with regard to the 18-Year Property Cycle. As we mentioned towards the end of the interview, we are planning to collaborate together on a blog post and possibly more in terms of how to make the 18-Year Property Cycle relevant to our property investing strategy over time. So watch this space over the coming weeks on that one.
We shall also return to the theme of property cycles more generally next time on the show for a fuller elaboration.
Back to Your Voice then…
Today we shall keep Your Voice short and sweet and simply share a 5-star review we had from Nurthan Monkee
Greatest podcast ever! April 30, 2015 by Nurthan Monkee from United Kingdom
Great format and something new for the property podcast market. Keep up the good work, and sort out the episode title for Episode 2!!!!
The Your Voice segment is all about you and your opinion. Whether a review, a question, a property story or just a good old moan, we are here for you! So, drop me drop me a note with what’s on your mind and we will try and feature as many contributions in the show as we can. You can email podcast@thepropertyvoice.net to start a conversation or drop a comment on our The Property Voice Facebook page, tweet @PropertyVoiceUK or leave a voice mail via our website…the choice is yours…BUT…we really love the iTunes reviews and voicemails the best…just saying 😉
Next up, the Shout Out
Shout Out
As I shared with you last week, I am running a 10Km on 7th November to raise money for a school in the middle of the Amazon rainforest. One resource that I have found helpful is an app called RunKeeper. As the name suggests it helps to train in running with distance or pace settings and records of your progress against goals and that type of thing.
However, it is not restricted to purely the activity of running, it also works with road & mountain biking, walking & hiking, skiing and snowboarding and even swimming…although I might need a waterproof phone case for that one I suspect! It’s pretty nifty really, so if you are struggling for motivation in your exercise activities, give RunKeeper a go.
And quickly on the subject of running, why not check out what I am up to on 7th November and more to the point, the back story behind this school I am supporting by checking out the blog post I have written, along with some photos to paint a better picture. The post is called: Giving in Action…supporting an Amazonian School. The teacher and the kids there are truly inspirational and so that is well worth a shout out for sure!
Ok, so that’s all we have time for today then. Three things that I would encourage you to do today are:
Leave us a review in iTunes, we will read out all 5-star reviews on the show
Check out the blog post about the Amazon school and their inspiring teacher and students over at www.thepropertyvoice.net
And don’t forget to have a great week in property!
Meanwhile, you can always email me personally at podcast@thepropertyvoice.net and the show notes will be over at the website www.thepropertyvoice.net
But right now at least, all that remains for me to say is: thank you very much for listening again this week and until next time on The Property Voice Podcast…it’s ciao-ciao
