"It's never too late to be the person we might have been"
-George Eliot

They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, or that if you don't have the best education that you are destined to lead a life of mediocrity. This quote beautifully illustrates how untrue these beliefs are.
In fact, they are false beliefs. It is never too late to change, whether we are 19 or 91...we each have the capacity to change and live up to our potential.
In order to change we must first change our beliefs, as if we believe we will never change, or amount to anything, or live up to our past expectations - that's exactly what we will end up with...what we expect. However, the opposite is also true, believe that we can change and that we can attain great things and all things are possible.
Sometimes it does involve thinking outside the box...a 91-year old may think that they do not have enough time to change a generation, however if they can influence others to adopt a cause, then even after they pass on, their cause can live on as their legacy.
I find this quote so inspiring, as it reverses the belief that age and old / bad habits will prevent us from even trying...this encourages us to never lose hope and never give up trying...young or old, advantaged or disadvantaged, gifted or otherwise.
