I probably will not have the chance to do full justice to the topic right now, suffice to say that I get the idea of an abundance mindset, at least on one level...
I do indeed practice many of the behaviours mentioned at the end of the article - this very blog and web resource is surely evidence of a sharing / co-operative approach would you agree?
But if I am honest with myself, there was still something missing…what was that limiting thought or belief that at times held me back I wonder? I will not get into that right at this moment but I will share this…
Over the past weekend, serendipity seemed to strike, or perhaps the stars aligned who knows!
I have been putting it out there that I like to collaborate with other people for some time, with some, if limited success. But boom!
Over the weekend I attended an event and since then:
- I have agreed to work with another experienced investor on a mentorship programme.
- People were literally tapping me on the shoulder and saying can I help them with HMOs or joint ventures for example
- People seemed to be making a beeline for me…maybe I had the right aftershave on, who knows
- Then shortly afterwards, a former colleague and now friend approached me for advice, which resulted in him having a clear strategy and direction as to how he could proceed with his own investing goals
Have any of these things made me a bundle of cash yet? Nope, not at all but guess what – my focus was not on money but on helping others to get what they wanted, or I was just being ‘normal’ really. I saw a gentleman by the name of Daniel Wagner and watched as he illustrated how we can sit and wait for the magic dust to drop into our lap for what seems like ages only to move away just before it falls…right into someone else’s lap. That is what I am really talking about here…persistence and belief no matter what and in particular just when we think it is time to give up.
Hold on, don’t give up, keep going and eventually when as we truly believe it will surely happen.
I am sure this weekend’s initial results will turn into something wonderful…something abundant in fact…how about you…time for a mindset MOT? Do you see abundance or scarcity?
