Transcription of the show
Hello there! Welcome, welcome, welcome to the first ever The Property Voice Podcast!
My name is Richard Brown and I am the founder of The Property Voice
This is an introductory episode just to set the scene of what you can expect from us on the podcast.
I have decided to run this podcast in a series format. This allows me to focus and therefore do justice to specific themes over a few weeks at a time. Hopefully, this will mean a great experience for you dear listener.
There are other property podcasts out there already; I know this as I also subscribe to some of them myself. So, how is The Property Voice Podcast different and why should you listen to it?
Well, before we get into that, let’s consider what is already available:
Firstly, some podcasts follow an interview format and that’s great for a varied diet of insights into the world of different property investors. It is a little bit like a pick-and-mix store, with a little bit of everything thrown in. I like listening to other investors and in fact I have appeared as a guest myself on several of these types of interview-based podcasts already. As I say, good varied content from experienced property investors. There is little point in trying to be a me-too in this space…so I won’t!
Second, there are the news information types of podcast with regular ‘what’s going on in property’ types of update. These are great to check in with the latest headlines & happenings in property and this is similar to The Property Voice’s origins as a curated news feed service, which if you look at the News Page on www.thepropertyvoice.net you will get a flavour for. As tempting as it was to offer my own personal take on this, which is an insight & commentary approach to property news; I have resisted.
The third type of podcast is the weekly discussion topic type and The Property Podcast is such an example and that has been a great success…and this originally sparked my interest in podcasting as a knowledge resource in the first place. The success of The Property Podcast, with my property pals Rob & Rob is evidence that there is a thirst for knowledge delivered in a different way via an audio format for would-be and existing property investors to tap into.
So, in response to these points – what can you expect from how The Property Voice Podcast and how is different? Here we go, these are some of the reasons that I can share with you right now:
First, The Property Voice Podcast will be delivered in a series format – this allows me to focus on key areas of the property industry & the property investment lifecycle. I see the benefit of this as being more of a modular approach, where listeners will eventually be able to listen to a series of topics in sequence relating to a common central theme. It will therefore be more concentrated over a short series length and will as the series and episodes unfold allow investors to choose where to dip in and out according to their specific needs, level of understanding and experience. This segment is called: Property Chatter.
Second, The Property Voice Podcast aims to get you engaged – this might be a tough ask in reality but it is certainly my intention to involve you in the show. I have a segment called: Your Voice, with that very aim in mind. Each week we will switch between a story from a real property investor, a specific question that a listener wants answering, or even the odd bit of a moan or gripe to help get things off your chest. We will have to see how well this goes as it clearly depends on your participation to make it a success, so I am counting on you to speak up and send in your contributions!
Third, one of the things that I like the most about The Property Voice is the ability to direct investors to resources, tools & tips and there will be a segment dedicated just to that too….which I am calling: Shout Out.
Finally, and as if that is not enough for you…there’s more!
I have to admit that I am going to be taking a bit of a risk here. Personal finance and property investing can at times be a bit of a dry topic I know…yes I did just say that! So, my intention is to try and deliver interesting, relevant and useful information with some light entertainment thrown in. Now, I am no radio personality, so please do be kind won’t you? But I am going to at least try and introduce some element of fun or entertainment value into the show; just to peak your interest and give the show something a touch different. I have a really big idea that I will keep under wraps for now but it could be the start of something big…or on the other hand, something rather pathetic instead! We shall have to see…and so shall you as all will be revealed in the first episode proper of The Property Voice podcast, which starts at the end of March with series one: the Property Investor Toolkit – Building on Solid Foundations.
I hope that I have wetted your appetite and made a great case for you to tune in and at least give it a try. As always with this sort of thing, it really does help if people can get behind the show and that means subscribing to listen, joining in the participation segments, commenting on the blog and those all-important reviews and ratings that we hear so much about, as it helps more people to know we exist.
That’s all for now, thank you so much for checking out this intro to The Property Voice Podcast. Please head over to the website at www.thepropertyvoice.net to see show notes and other great property content waiting just for you.
Until next time on The Property Voice podcast…ciao-ciao.
